Service Description

This two-day workshop explores the basics of constructing ceramic sculptures and alternative finishes to glazing. Whether you want to create representational or abstract forms, Bree will guide you through the foundations of turning your ideas into 3d forms and hand-building techniques to prepare them for firing. You will learn the behaviour and benefits of working with paper clay and traditional sculpture finishes that can be applied to bisque fired pieces. Provided: * two Days of hands-on clay sculpting * ceramic Tools and Drawing materials * 1 bag of paper clay per person * bisque Firing Please note: After your pieces have been bisque fired, you will be colouring the surface of your pieces in your own time. Information for finishing techniques and where to buy supplies will be given on the day. * lunch and morning tea on both days Please Bring * pictures or drawings of 3D for forms that interest you * small plastic container to store paper clay slip. * any tools you would like to use. BIO Bree Cribbin is an Australian Artist based in Sydney, working with Sculpture, Ceramics, Digital Media, Sound and Performance. Known for her ceramic sculptures, Bree began her studies at a pottery village in Vietnam, going on to study under several artists in Asia, Europe and Australia. After completing a Diploma in Ceramics and several scholarships at Tom Bass Sculpture Studio, Bree founded a community ceramic space in the Wollondilly Shire and began teaching at various studios around Sydney. Currently majoring in Sculpture at National Art School, her knowledge and experience offer students a unique combination of traditional and contemporary techniques in ceramics and sculpture. Bree has been a finalist in multiple Australian art prizes, including Tom Bass Figurative Sculpture Prize, Sculpture in The Valley and Blacktown Art Prize.

Cancellation Policy

You must cancel or amend your booking if you or anyone in your group are unwell, have symptoms such as cough, fever or shortness of breath. You must cancel or amend your booking if you or any member of your group have come into close contact with anyone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19, or have been to any identified 'hot spots' in the 14 days prior to your session. The studio reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who displays signs of being unwell, intoxicated or unacceptable behaviour. When in the studio all participants must adhere to Covid Safe requirements, including Service NSW QR Code registration, physical distancing, using hand sanitiser and masks when 1.5 metre distancing is not possible. No tools will be shared. Booked sessions can only be rescheduled or cancelled due to extenuating circumstances. Payments for cancelled sessions are non-refundable but may be transferable to another service/product with sufficient notice.
